Selina Ott was born in Krems in 1998. She started playing the recorder and the piano
at the age of five. With six years she started her trumpet lessons with her father
at the school of music in St. Pölten.
From 2011 to 2016 Selina attended the Hochbegabten- and Vorbereitungslehrgang in
the class of Prof. Martin Mühlfellner at the University of Music and Performing Arts
in Vienna. From April 2015 to July 2016 she additionally attended the precollege
in the class of Prof. Reinhold Friedrich at the Musikhochschule in Karlsruhe. In
Oktober 2016 she started her bachelor’s programme with Prof. Roman Rindberger at
the Music and Art University of the city Vienna. Masterclasses with Gábor Tarkövi,
Jens Lindemann, Kristian Steenstrup, Allen Vizzutti, Bo Nilsson, Prof. Hans Gansch,
Guillaume Jehl and Prof. Klaus Schuhwerk complement her studies.
Despite her young age, Selina Ott was already awarded with numerous prices. She got
the first price in the competition 'prima la musica' eight times.
With eleven years Selina got the opportunity to play with the Austrian Youth Brass
Band as a soloist at the European Brass Band Championships in the Brucknerhaus Linz.
She also played as a soloist with the Brass Band of Upper Austria, Youth Brass Band
of Upper Austria, Brass Band Noricum, Symphonic Youth Orchestra of Lower Austria,
Franz Schmidt Chamber Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of the Musikhochschule Karlsruhe
and the Chamber Orchestra of the University for Music and performing Arts in Vienna.
After Selina won the audition at Musica Juventutis she played a concert in the Schubertsaal
of the Wiener Konzerthaus in April 2015. In October 2015 Prof. Reinhold Friedrich
invited her to play at the Weingartner Musiktage, where she played a concert together
with the harp player Alisa Sadikova.
In April 2017 she won the music competition of the Lions Club. Therefore she will
represent Austria at the European Trumpet Competition in Montreux in September.
